Drakeset Electrical Ltd. was established in 1982 by Roger D.L. Palmer and his brother Stephen J. Palmer, operating from the present premises Unit 3 Tansey Green Road, Brierley Hill, West Midlands. Unit 3 consists of 2000 sq. ft of warehouse, workshop and offices.
The company initially carried out many small and medium contracts throughout the Midlands for Health Authorities, West Midland Police Authority and Dudley Borough Council.
Unfortunately Stephen J. Palmer died in 1985 leaving a large gap in the management side of the company.
Roger Palmer took over the sole Directorship of the company, but unable to cope with the ever increasing business activities he decided to reinforce the management side by promoting existing employees.
David White was promoted from approved electrician to Estimator/Contracts Manager with sole responsibility for IBM (UK) ltd Warwick, Tony Pope was promoted from approved electrician to Contracts Manager with sole responsibility running measured term contracts for RAF Shawbury, RAF Tern Hill, RAF Stafford and RAF Cosford. Roger Palmer continued to run measured term contracts for Dudley Health Authority at Wordsley Hospital, Burton Road Hospital, The Guest Hospital, Russells Hall Hospital, Corbetts Hospital and 40 Health Clinics.
Mrs Lesley Moore was promoted from accounts clerk to office manager.
In 2004 Roger Palmer semi retired remaining Chairman and promoted David White to Managing Director, Tony Pope to Technical Director and Lesley Moore to Company Secretary.
David White retired in 2007 and has been replaced by Paul Stringer as Contracts Manager for the IBM (UK) Ltd site, Paul was also previously employed as an approved electrician.
Our main activities are now with West Midland Police, Health Authorities, IBM (UK)Ltd, Borough & City Councils and Warwick University. We are able to accept contracts up to £1,000,000.00
Over the past 25 years Drakeset Electrical Ltd has become a highly respected contractor operating in the ever changing techniques of electrical installations, satisfying the demands of the enviroment, Health and Safety and the requirements of its customers.
